A great new idea

I came up with the idea of a "Prayer Box" while doodling on the metal lathe.
These are nice and will make for a cherished heirloom that will get passed down from generation to generation.
I designed these to be either left plain, initialed or highly decorated with engraving. I suppose someone could set precious or semi-precious stones in them too.
They look great just as they are, but you can see the one I'm engraving for my wife is going to be sensational.

Time to launch...and it's free (for now)

Hi friends! I've been chipping away at the idea of an on-line magazine for a while and decided that it's time to launch it.
FWIT...this is not a forum. There's no way I'm even going to try to horn in on this territory. You guys already got that figured out. This is different.
I have some HUGE sponsors that promise to promote this on a global level and I am encouraging anyone that is interested to drop me a line and see if you have a good story to tell.
Who knows? This may be the place where the world finds you.
Being the only contributing writer, you'll find the content is rather thin at the moment, but you gotta start somewhere, right? (and frankly, my wife is SOoooo tired about hearing me go on and on about this project, I either have to give it a shot or shut it up.)
There's a good chance that this just isn't a worthy endeavour, and it may wither on the vine. Time will tell.
I have several articles in the works as we speak.
Here's a little teaser that will soon be posted on "The Engravers Notebook"..."Knowing you are losing on this job will not inspire you to do your best work on it. In fact, you are more likely to give the other side the “Bum’s Rush” just to get it out.
The flip side to this argument is not knowing if you are making money…an even worse situation.
There’s almost nothing less inspiring than finding out you lost your shirt after the job was done. You realize that you just gave away hard earned money. That customer became your favorite charity for the length of time you spent on his gun, knife, ring, whatever."

I'll see ya' down the road on this one.

There I go again

Must be doing something right when the work gets featured on another web site.
Outwardly, I'm blushing (not really), but inwardly, I'm doing a "High-Five".

Thanks GRS!

Not just "All work and no play"

That is 6 Gallons of Sweet Red Concord wine in the works.
When this is ready, I'll be ready---and I share.

Let's help those locked out NFL Players

Hundreds of Professional Football players in our very own nation are going to be locked out, forced through no fault if their own to live at well below the seven-figure salary level they have been receiving. And as if that weren't bad enough they could be deprived of their life-giving pay for several months, possibly even longer, as a result of the upcoming lockout situation. But here's the GOOD news -- YOU can help!

For only $27,080 a month, only about $902.75 a day (that's less than the cost of a large screen projection TV), you can help an NFL player remain economically viable during his time of need. This contribution by no means solves the problem totally, as it barely covers the annual minimum salary, but it IS a start, and every little bit helps!

Although $900 may not seem like a lot of money to you, to a football player it could mean the difference between spending the lockout golfing in Florida or on a Mediterranean cruise. For you, nine hundred dollars is nothing more than a month's rent, a mortgage payment, or a month of medical insurance, but to a football player, $900 will partially replace his daily salary.

Your commitment of only $900 a day will enable a player to buy that badly needed home entertainment center, trade in his year-old Lexus for a new Ferrari, or enjoy a weekend in Rio .

YOU MAY ASK -- HOW WILL I KNOW I'M HELPING?

Each month, you will receive a complete financial report on the player you sponsor. Detailed information about his stocks, bonds, 401(k), real estate, and other investment holdings will be mailed to your home. Plus, upon signing up for this program, you will receive an unsigned photo of the player lounging during the lockout on a beach somewhere in the Caribbean (for a signed photo, please include an additional $150). Put the photo on your refrigerator to remind you of other peoples' suffering.

YOU MAY ASK -- HOW WILL HE KNOW I'M HELPING?

Your NFL player will be told that he has a SPECIAL FRIEND who just wants to help in a time of need. Although the player won't know your name, he will be able to make collect calls to your home via a special operator in case additional funds are needed for unforeseen expenses.

YES, I WANT TO HELP!

I would like to sponsor a locked-out NFL player. My preference is (check below):

[ ] Offense [ ] Defense [ ] Special Teams [ ] Entire team

Please charge the account listed below $902.75 per day for the duration of the lockout. Please send me a picture of the player and my very own Roger Goodell (NFL Commissioner) pin to wear proudly on my hat (include $80 for hat).
